WHAT IS REACH'S PRIMARY OBJECTIVE?
REACH develops disciples of Jesus Christ as whole persons and promotes
wholistic Christian discipleship in the Third World.

WHAT IS HOLISTIC CHRISTIAN DISCIPLESHIP?
Holistic derives from the word "whole." The concepts of whole persons
and wholeness recognize that God's redemptive work in Christ takes place
neither in a vacuum nor in a purely spiritual dimension. All human concerns,
the physical, the social, the emotional, the political, and the economic
are involved.

WHAT IS MEANT BY "GOD'S REDEMPTIVE WORK"?
Man is by nature fallen due to sin. But God offers reconciliation through
Jesus Christ. Christ's singular message of restoration also calls people
to follow Him in a life of discipleship. However, scriptural disciplemaking
does not follow a uniform pattern. Instead, a variety of means and methods
are used depending on the particular context.

HOW DOES REACH SEE ITS ROLE IN GOD'S REDEMPTIVE WORK?
Developing "whole" disciples of Jesus Christ presupposes three impediments
that must be overcome if disciples are to grow and multiply.
1) Internal
impediments include a distorted belief system, low self-image, and other
factors hindering a disciple's personal growth.
2) External impediments
maybe socioeconomic and political situations barring a disciple from attaining
his highest potential, such as poverty, ignorance, injustices, and various
forms of institutionalized evil.
3) The third impediment is supernatural
and refers to the spiritual battle waged by Christians against a real enemy,
the devil, and all of his hosts.
Because REACH is committed to developing
Christian disciples, it specifically addresses itself to the victorious
conquest of these barriers through Christ- the source of power and strength
for the task at hand.

HOW IS REACH ACCOMPLISHING ITS GOAL?
Ministry Development. Men and women living transformed lives
through Christ are the ideal agents of change in their communities, social
groups, and institutions. This is possible through a ministry of servant hood,
just acts and good works, including as much assistance to the needy as
resources will allow. REACH is comprised of communities of disciples found
in universities, colleges, high schools, work offices, cities, towns, and
villages nationwide. REACH also cooperates with local church groups and
kindred Christian organizations in advancing the Gospel.
Materials Development. Indigenous concepts, materials and strategies
are harnessed to produce ministry tools for sustaining the growth of discipleship
communities, such as contextualized Bible studies, Scripture memory programs,
audiovisual presentations and other mass media systems. Socioeconomic. The
discipleship community places a strong emphasis on a simple, sacrificial
lifestyle of charity and resourcefulness to insure equal opportunities
for all. Small and large-scale economic projects are designed to upgrade
the well being of the community of disciples, promote biblical stewardship,
and help the needy maximize use of limited resources through access to
appropriate technology.
Human Resources Development. The aim of HRD is to build in the
lives of disciples a strong, communal identity with other members of God's
family that overcomes all geographic, social, economic and cultural differences.
REACH also believes in developing an indigenous leadership style.
A strong family spirit, mutual support, shared responsibility and respect
for consensus is promoted. Attention to individual and group needs; plus
regular or special conferences and training programs seek to ensure wholesome
personal growth and development of ministry leaders, constituents, and
administrative staff.
Administration and
Management. REACH is staffed by gifted, competent
disciples with proven integrity and skill in managing the Lord's resources.
They see to the efficient and proper use of materials and services.

HOW IS REACH SUPPORTED?
REACH is supported mainly by those whose lives have been helped through
the ministry. The discipleship community looks to God alone to direct people
to give and share as they learn about current needs.
Ministry staff is
largely self-supporting, but actual ministry expenses are funded by voluntary
contributions from valued donors. Such gifts are instrumental in advancing
the pioneering aspect of the work, including emergency and disaster relief,
medical care, missionary support and capitalization for economic projects.
